Greatness.

“I am in competition with no one. I run my own race. I have no desire to play the game of being better than anyone, in any way, shape, or form. I just aim to improve, to be better than I was before. That’s me…and I’m free.” ~Unknown
We all live once, what matters is what we do with our lives. What we do with seconds we have each day. Make a difference and leave this world better than what you found it as. That is living, That is revolutionary and that is epic.

Above & Beyond the call of Duty. Customer Service.

Reason #982 Why We Love What We Do at KARATS JEWELERS : Customer wanted to get an engagement ring and propose in the next couple weeks. He is a busy business executive and had no time to stop by the store besides today at 8:30 am, however we do not open till 10am everyday. Told him I would be happy to help him One on One and get him his dream ring for her. I was at the store at 7:30 am with a Starbucks getting ready for him and he showed up promptly at 8:30, found a ring he loved and thanked me for being here earlier than regular time. While he was ecstatic to find the PERFECT RING he said there was no one that would have done what we did for him by personally opening up the store before regular business hours since he called a couple places before someone recommended him to come to us. We made a LIFE LONG CUSTOMER at KARATS simply because we always go ABOVE & BEYOND the call of duty. When you love what you do it shows in everything you touch.

Reflection

True meaning of life is learning each day, each moment. I heard a saying once and it went something like this “Remarkable people make original mistakes. Learn to explore with a beginners mindset” I cherish this truly. It is not because I make mistakes but because I TRY, I LEARN and GROW as a person. In REFLECTION, life would be really unexplored and unchartered if we didn’t go out of our realms to be who we want to be.

As one of my mentors through inspiration Steve Jobs said. “Stay Hungry, Stay Foolish.” These words hold the ultimate truth to life. One must be hungry for knowledge and wisdom and the desire to learn and that ONLY comes when we acknowledge that we are foolish in every sense. Leaving pride and “I” away.

Rabindranath Tagore, Nobel Laureate and one of my favorite writers.

Rabindranath Tagore is one of my favorite writers. Here is one of my favorite ones. I hope you will enjoy it as much as I do. Akshay Anand August 28th, 2013

And Joy is Everywhere;
It is in the Earth’s green covering of grass;
In the blue serenity of the Sky;
In the reckless exuberance of Spring;
In the severe abstinence of gray Winter;
In the Living flesh that animates our bodily frame;
In the perfect poise of the Human figure, noble and upright;
In Living;
In the exercise of all our powers;
In the acquisition of Knowledge;
in fighting evils…
Joy is there Everywhere.

– Rabindranath Tagore, 1861-1941
Nobel Prize in Literature, 1913

American Americans

One of my favorite quotes of all times is the one below from Martin Luther King. The essence of humanity is that we are all people with the same dreams, desires and wants. To enrich our lives with happiness, joys and prosperity’s. To treat others just as how we want to be treated and to grow as people of excellence as we learn from what’s behind us and make what’s in front the best ever.

America is the only country where we are not of ethnicity, religion or sect but as American Americans. United as one for the welfare and good of others and our selves. A nation that by enlarge lives and flourishes on basic rights of human dignity and honesty.

I hope you and I will continue to strive to live by example so others may see us as a ray of shinning hope and regard America as the beacon of the highest civilization in human history.

My thoughts today.

“Whatever affects one directly, affects all indirectly. I can never be what I ought to be until you are what you ought to be. This is the interrelated structure of reality.” – Martin Luther King, Jr.

My Invocation to Leawood Rotary

On August 25th, 2011 I gave the following Invocation to the Rotary Club of Leawood that I belong too. A couple years down the road, I am remembering a great soul and an American Soldier who gave his life for our freedoms. Leawood Rotary Club is an Organization that gives its time, resources and efforts in making a difference in the world. I am a proud Leawood, KS Rotarian. Where we put Service Above Self.

INVOCATION:

They say that whatever we do comes with a price….a price for freedom, liberties and living our “dreams” is far higher than what we as individuals can EVER realize living where we live.

This nation has been built on principals of Service, Hard Work, Innovation and to stand for righteousness. Just the other day i was seeing a documentry of the days after september 11th when the United States went into Afghanistan, it really changed a lot of perspectives for me of how “this war against terrorism” was conducted as opposed to the many we have fought before.

I was amazed of how the United States only sent 7 men, yes ONLY 7 MEN from CIA to make pacts with the Northern Alliance Group that rebeled the Taliban before many other troops started coming in…..

Making a Long Story Short, it amazed me how the US conducted Drone wars against taliban and insurgents that came to our land and to our homes and tried to disrupt our way of life. Shortly after this documentry one morning i got a text message and it said “Brother Mason Died in Afghanistan”

I was taken back, i was quite and practically numb the entire day…. Matt Mason was my fraternity brother at Northwest Missouri State and was one of the 30 Navy Seals that was killed in Afghanistan and we as a country lost an honorable man, a great member of our community and he leaves behind 2 boys about the ages of 4 and 5 and an expecting daughter in the next month or so.

This man, gave his life for OUR FREEDOM, FOR OUR LIBERTIES and for our “DREAMS” that we living HERE cannot even begin to comprehend what it takes to fight those wars. That man was an honorable individual that fought for you and me amoung many others that have gone before and will continue to pay the BIGGEST PRICE for our FREEDOM.

Lets take a moment of silence and remember those that we know or those that have lost their lives so we all can live freely.

Thank You, I will be passing out a few things i got at matt’s services for you all to check out.

The greatest of joys is to create something bigger and better than you. To put your heart, soul and everything you have to see it grow. Just like how a mother raises a child. Our Businesses is our passion, its a dream and its made with immense emotions and we as Entrepreneurs put every single bit of what we have into it.

I am so blessed to be the 6th generation in the Jewelry Business and live a life filled with passion for what I do. My grandfather would have been so proud to see KARATS in Kansas City. He would have been filled with joy to see how is generations have uplifted the family name and legacy.

I aspire to do my best each day for my business, my family, my loved ones and my community.

Serving God by Doing What We Love.

I was blessed today to help a deaf and mute couple that came in to buy an engagement ring. It was the most heart warming customer interaction I have ever had. I felt like it was God sent. It was sent so I could help them above and beyond the call of duty. I joyed in sharing emotions, unspoken words and yet understanding everything they asked through hand motion, the eyes spoke and the heart vibes guided me. As I helped them choose the perfect engagement ring I was left speechless. I was left to just reflect on this enlightening experience of pure love which has no boundaries, it is an emotional oneness of two bodies making one soul. It was more like Gods presence in them. Pure and unconditional love. Helping them today while going the extra mile put within me the sense of satisfaction that cannot be comprehended. I feel blessed for this day, for the opportunity to help them and once again unconditional love always is an example of heaven on earth. Simply pureness.

The Living Chiefs of the United States of America.

If you know me, then you know how much I love the United States of America. I have many times said. That I truly bleed Red, White and Blue. In March of this year I met President Bill Clinton, A man I have looked upto for what he has done for Global Welfare through the Clinton Foundation and continues to do and make an impact across the world. He has by far done more in his post presidential life than any President I know. I admire him for his efforts to serve humanity.

We live in a great nation, and it is truly for these men and the ones before and the ones after (or a women) that this NATION is still the GREATEST OF ALL. Such an Awesome picture of all the living Presidents of the United States of America. Their leadership and their vision continues to make our country the best on this planet. “One Nation, Under God, with Liberty and Justice For ALL”.

God Bless America, God Bless everyone and May the Red, White & Blue always stand for freedom, righteousness and justice for all.
