As I am reflecting on these honors I have to say that it cannot be done without the humble support of my family, friends, Karats Team Members, Customers, Vendors & Designers and each one of you that truly cares for us.

Each day I hope that I can exemplify Humbleness, A heart filled with Gratitude and Most Importantly Always Putting Others First. Above & Beyond the call of Duty. Customer Service.

Reason #982 Why We Love What We Do at KARATS JEWELERS : Customer wanted to get an engagement ring and propose in the next couple weeks. He is a busy business executive and had no time to stop by the store besides today at 8:30 am, however we do not open till 10am everyday. Told him I would be happy to help him One on One and get him his dream ring for her. I was at the store at 7:30 am with a Starbucks getting ready for him and he showed up promptly at 8:30, found a ring he loved and thanked me for being here earlier than regular time. While he was ecstatic to find the PERFECT RING he said there was no one that would have done what we did for him by personally opening up the store before regular business hours since he called a couple places before someone recommended him to come to us. We made a LIFE LONG CUSTOMER at KARATS simply because we always go ABOVE & BEYOND the call of duty. When you love what you do it shows in everything you touch.

Reflection

True meaning of life is learning each day, each moment. I heard a saying once and it went something like this “Remarkable people make original mistakes. Learn to explore with a beginners mindset” I cherish this truly. It is not because I make mistakes but because I TRY, I LEARN and GROW as a person. In REFLECTION, life would be really unexplored and unchartered if we didn’t go out of our realms to be who we want to be.

As one of my mentors through inspiration Steve Jobs said. “Stay Hungry, Stay Foolish.” These words hold the ultimate truth to life. One must be hungry for knowledge and wisdom and the desire to learn and that ONLY comes when we acknowledge that we are foolish in every sense. Leaving pride and “I” away.

American Americans

One of my favorite quotes of all times is the one below from Martin Luther King. The essence of humanity is that we are all people with the same dreams, desires and wants. To enrich our lives with happiness, joys and prosperity’s. To treat others just as how we want to be treated and to grow as people of excellence as we learn from what’s behind us and make what’s in front the best ever.

America is the only country where we are not of ethnicity, religion or sect but as American Americans. United as one for the welfare and good of others and our selves. A nation that by enlarge lives and flourishes on basic rights of human dignity and honesty.

I hope you and I will continue to strive to live by example so others may see us as a ray of shinning hope and regard America as the beacon of the highest civilization in human history.

My Invocation to Leawood Rotary

On August 25th, 2011 I gave the following Invocation to the Rotary Club of Leawood that I belong too. A couple years down the road, I am remembering a great soul and an American Soldier who gave his life for our freedoms. Leawood Rotary Club is an Organization that gives its time, resources and efforts in making a difference in the world. I am a proud Leawood, KS Rotarian. Where we put Service Above Self.

INVOCATION:

They say that whatever we do comes with a price….a price for freedom, liberties and living our “dreams” is far higher than what we as individuals can EVER realize living where we live.

This nation has been built on principals of Service, Hard Work, Innovation and to stand for righteousness. Just the other day i was seeing a documentry of the days after september 11th when the United States went into Afghanistan, it really changed a lot of perspectives for me of how “this war against terrorism” was conducted as opposed to the many we have fought before.

I was amazed of how the United States only sent 7 men, yes ONLY 7 MEN from CIA to make pacts with the Northern Alliance Group that rebeled the Taliban before many other troops started coming in…..

Making a Long Story Short, it amazed me how the US conducted Drone wars against taliban and insurgents that came to our land and to our homes and tried to disrupt our way of life. Shortly after this documentry one morning i got a text message and it said “Brother Mason Died in Afghanistan”

I was taken back, i was quite and practically numb the entire day…. Matt Mason was my fraternity brother at Northwest Missouri State and was one of the 30 Navy Seals that was killed in Afghanistan and we as a country lost an honorable man, a great member of our community and he leaves behind 2 boys about the ages of 4 and 5 and an expecting daughter in the next month or so.

This man, gave his life for OUR FREEDOM, FOR OUR LIBERTIES and for our “DREAMS” that we living HERE cannot even begin to comprehend what it takes to fight those wars. That man was an honorable individual that fought for you and me amoung many others that have gone before and will continue to pay the BIGGEST PRICE for our FREEDOM.

Lets take a moment of silence and remember those that we know or those that have lost their lives so we all can live freely.
